A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

Content warning: much blood, two or three spooky images (one jumpscare), implied death

Kaisei and Rei received a letter in the mail, telling them to go to an extremely suspicious house in the middle of the woods. Morbidly curious, they did just that. Now they need to figure out how to get into the house.

Yes, in the time that you read this entire description, you could've speedran the game.

Characters:

Features:
- implied Halloween
- two dudes just hanging out... there's literally no romance
- adaptive UI?
- an NPC that follows you around and gives up easily
- character swapping
- auto-use items
- a stunning total of two maps (and two rooms)
- lots and lots of dialogue... perhaps too much dialogue
- my awful handwriting in-game
- things that you didn't know were interactable, but they were and they also happen to be very important
- to alleviate the issues with the previous point, an exclamation mark whenever you're near something interactable
- only one full screen CG (that's where all the budget went)

It's practically an RPG Maker horror game... it just wasn't made in RPG Maker.

Controls:
WASD to move, E or enter to interact, [esc] to open up the inventory and switch characters.

Credits:
All 2D assets created in Firealpaca. Majority of SFX recorded with a mic. Music and remaining SFX done in Garageband. Special thanks to wispify and AtomicAnt for playtesting. Fonts used were created with Microsoft Font Maker.

to any people who read this in the future, none of this is canon. thanks.

as thanks for reading please enjoy this chibi version of Rei stabbing a ghost.

Welp, it's a very fun short Halloween game! Characters are cool, and the dialogues can be funny. I like the flavor text of each of the items. Pixel art of this game is also pretty nice, and so is the music, which has the puzzle horror feels to it. (I checked the rest of the item texts I missed after the recording, as well other things I guess, as I whoopsy-daisied on reading the items text and rushed through immediately, which unfortunately is a seldom case that happened.) I guess my favorite funny, is basically burning the plush, which I immediately recognized the two jokes of it.

I guess there's one bug, kind of minor-major, which you can see on the playthrough, and it's the inventory, it's also the settings menu, but big, and also follows where the characters' location atm.

Regardless of that, it's a blast to play!

Happy Halloween anyways.

I'm kind of impressed and horrified at the same time that inventory bug could happen...  I ended up googling it and apparently it's an engine bug that's hardware related and changing the renderer should probably bypass it. so I did that. but if it doesn't fix it... well... not much I can do about that. in short... your computer is in fact haunted. sorry for the news. anyway, thank you very much for playing once again... even if you've broken things once again.
