Anomaly Eater
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Play as Sagami (first name unknown), a government-employed magical girl who would really rather be playing games at home than doing overtime with her coworker Sakai in the middle of nowhere at a secluded train station overladen with anomalies.
Your goal is to take pictures of anomalies to gain power, and then use that power to "eat" any left-over anomalies from the previous round, with a total of 5 rounds. Be careful though, because gaining too much power or getting attacked by an active anomaly will send you back to the 0th round and start everything over again.
Features:
- photo-taking mechanic (you can photograph the HUD if you really want to)
- 80 different passive anomalies, 10 different active anomalies over two maps
- painterly-style background art and atmospheric sound design (?)
- 7 unique CGs and 3 endings
- lots of frame-by-frame animation (I am sad)
- Exit 8-inspired gameplay (for example, it's at a train station)
- cute anime girls (2, possibly 3 if we stretch the definition a bit)
- being able to miss attacks is an intended feature (I actually spent like 5 minutes coding it in)
Controls:
AD to move
[Enter]/[Space]/[LMB] to progress dialogue
[LMB] to aim/take pictures while aiming
[RMB] to attack/exit aiming
[Shift] to toggle HUD

Loved the game! May check out more from you in the future
Great game!
Glad you enjoyed it! About the bad ending... you gotta get past the second white line and then end the round- it'll be pretty obvious once you're past the second white line. Something that might also help is remembering that the number of missed passive anomalies equals the number of active anomalies next round, so if you're getting a lot of active anomalies, you might want to slow down a bit and look around a little more carefully.
(LAST EDITED: 3/14/2025)
(Also has no commentary.)
Pretty cool game, and I love the characters. Would love to see them more as well.
I guess the gameplay mechanic is also cool, and had some thinking moments as well a bit.
Overall, you still did pretty good job on this one.
(I still wish I was able to record this on OBS, but dang, OBS just really don't want to without lagging bits.)
EDIT 3/14/2025: Did decide to find all unique anomalies, and as well the secret ending on this second part:
(Also has no commentary as well, for again for fans of pure game audio I guess.)
Still after finding all of them, and as well seeing the last third/secret ending, I find this game to be now my favorite out of all of your games so far. Ofc, very obvious which anomaly I like on this... (it's the ufo.)
Again, you really have care on making this game. So, thank you!
