Regardless of the results of the game jam, there will be an update hopefully in March or April. Due to some other commitments, I won't be able to work on the game until likely after February, so hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Planned features:
- replacing the easy mode with a tutorial mode
- refactoring the code so that you can actually restart the game from the title screen
- making it possible to bet your max health to continue on the current boss
- another CG or 2
- 2 secrets

So not too much, although it might take me some time to code the secrets in and also draw the CGs.

I did get some work done (basically almost all the sprites for a new character) before I had to start working on other stuff, so here's a teaser.

Even if it looks like an overdesigned mess right now, I promise it'll make more sense when the update releases :)

Speaking of other commitments, unless something absolutely insane happens, after being invited by a friend, I'll be tabling at ZotCon, which is UCI's annual anime convention that takes place March 1st this year (2025) in Irvine, CA. It's a ticketed event (it's $10 base price from what I can see), and I doubt anyone reading this is going to be there, but I'll be selling some stuff related to the game.

I'm probably going to sell each card for 3 dollars, and maybe offer a discount if you buy all four. I'll also have the ending CG for sale as a postcard alongside some Touhou fan merch, Kasane Teto keychains, and stickers of my OCs and some of the fish from Catching a Date. Maybe down the line if there's actual demand, all this stuff might be available for sale online, but it's highly unlikely.

After I finish the update I'll likely get back to the other planned update for Catching a Date (it's almost been a year) with possibly a shorter game in between that I originally had planned for December and then I'll likely clear out the list of other projects I have. I'm very much looking forward to getting everything done, so I really hope people will enjoy the updates and games when they come out.
